Peel Aquatic Club (PAQ) is delighted to announce the appointment of Albert as its new Head Coach. With a distinguished background in sports spanning over 15 years, Albert brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the club.
Hailing from the picturesque region of Transylvania in Romania, Albert was born to Hungarian parents and has been immersed in the world of sports from a young age. His journey began at the age of six when he joined a local swim club in his city, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for athletics.
During his teenage years, Albert discovered basketball, which became his main sport throughout his university years. In 2005, he graduated from the Physical Education and Sports University at Transylvania University, Romania, earning a degree in Swimming and Basketball Coaching, alongside qualifications as a Physical Education teacher.
Albert's coaching career commenced in 2007 in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, where he worked with athletes at various levels, from novices to international competitors. After a year, he returned to Romania, where he established his own swim school and collaborated with local sports clubs to nurture professional swimmers.
In 2013, Albert made the move back to New Zealand, assuming the role of Head Coach for a prominent club in the North Island. His leadership and dedication saw him appointed as the Head Coach of the Queenstown Swimming Club from 2015 until 2021. In recent years, Albert founded the Werewolf Sports Club, where he served as Coaching Director and basketball coach.
Albert expressed his excitement about his new role at Peel Aquatic Club, stating, "I'm looking forward with a lot of enthusiasm to my next step in my coaching career as Head Coach of Peel Aquatic Club." He emphasized the importance of community support, the dedication of the swimmers, and his leadership, knowledge, and experience in achieving the club's goals.
