Peel Aquatic senior swimmers, Finlay Larmour, Sean Alcorn and Oliver Brehaut, along with Head Coach Patrick Stellino, were recently selected for Swimming WA's 2021 Duel in the Pool at Christchurch Grammar School due to the cancellation of State Teams due to be held in Canberra.
Whilst the team were unable travel to Canberra for the 2021 State Team Championships due to COVID-19 and state border restrictions, they attended and competed in a duel meet between WA Gold and WA Black at Christchurch Grammar School from October 4 - 6.
This year WA's State team, which is selected based on performances at the 2021 Hancock Prospecting WA Short Course Championships, included six regional athletes, of which Peel Aquatic swimmers made up half.
Swimmers and coaches stayed, trained and competed together over the three day camp which enabled our top young athletes to train and race in a highly competitive environment.
WA Gold came out as the champions at the end of the three day training camp and two days of competitive racing.
